COLOMBIAN EMERALD JEWELRY WORKSHOP

This program is divided into three different activities:

- Emerald Jewelry Workshop (90-120 minutes)

With included material and under the direction of a personal instructor you can make your own jewelry. You will also receive written instructions with pictures, where all steps are explained clearly and a diplom.

This experience will be complemented with a guided visit  thru the laboratories of this schoool where you can see the various techniques to elaborate a piece of jewlery.

- Guided visit to the Emerald Museum (25-45 minutes)

There, we will learn everything about emeralds, their magic, their historic relevance and the scientific characteristics. Thanks to the original size of the replication, we will experience being in a real emerald tunnel and watch the miners at work. This museum also keeps the legendary 260 pounds PETRA. It is the largest emerald that has ever been found in Colombia. It has more than sixty crystals and more than two thousand carats in total.

- Visit of the Joyería Caribe Factory and Showroom (25-45 minutes)

We can visit the jewelry factory, where we can observe craftsmen producing silver and gold jewelry decorated with emeralds. We can also visit the showroom of this family owned business. It is the only jewelry store in Colombia with a quality management system certificate and international guarantee.
