Jamu means Armadillo in the indigenous Siona language, it is a privately owned lodge located in the incredible Cuyabeno ecosystem, where clients can enjoy different types of activities. We are located along the Cuyabeno River, 15 minutes downstream from the wonderful Laguna Grande. Our lodge practices a policy of minimal environmental impact. they have light / they don't have connectors) But if we have connectors in social areas, where they can recharge all kinds of cameras, etc., solar panels help us to work in operating areas with a capacity of 110wtz.

4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS

 

Day 1:

Reception in Lago Agrio at 9:30 a.m. for passengers arriving by land and 11:00 a.m. for passengers arriving by air, from where we will take private transport to the entrance of Cuyabeno, where we will have a box lunch. At this point, visitors have to register at the Reserve office. Here our naturalist guide will give you information about the Reserve, important recommendations and other tips to start the navigation for two hours in the Cuyabeno River from Jamu Lodge. During the canoe ride you will get a first look at the jungle and you will be able to observe different types of birds such as caciques, orioles and the prehistoric Hoatzin bird. You may also be able to see a variety of monkeys and other jungle animals, depending on the weather and weather conditions. We will arrive at Jamu Lodge around 4:30 pm. At that point you will be shown to your rooms and you can relax a bit. After the siesta we will leave the lodge to swim in the lagoon and see a beautiful sunset in the middle of the Laguna Grande. You will then return to the camp for dinner, and you can finish your first day in the jungle, relax in a hammock or have a drink at the bar.

Day 2

After breakfast there is a walk of approximately 3 to 4 hours through the primary forest, where the guide will explain to us about a tropical forest, and medicinal plants. They will also be able to observe large trees such as CEIBO or small insects such as ants. We will return to the camp for lunch and take a break and in the afternoon we will go out to see the beautiful butterflies and to swim in the lagoon. If possible, we will be able to observe the beautiful rubbed dolphins and enjoy the impressive sunset. Then, we return to the camp for dinner. At night we carry out a nocturnal activity, focused on the search for alligators on the banks of the river.

Day 3

After breakfast we set out in a canoe downriver for about an hour to visit a family from the Tarapuy community. We can learn how to prepare Casabe, a traditional Yuca bread, where we will help in its preparation. We will learn to use the materials of the jungle to make bread, in this we occupy all day; returning to the Lodge at approximately two in the afternoon. After lunch we have relaxation activities; To end the day we will have a short walk through the primary forest focused on observing nocturnal insects, such as spiders, gekos or scorpions and listening to the noises and sounds of the night.

Day 4

Early in the morning before breakfast, a bird watching excursion is optional. Returning to the lodge we have breakfast and then check out 9:30 AM from the Lodge with a transfer to Lago Agrio to take the bus or flight back. The normal tour ends in the city of Lago Agrio at approximately 15 PM.

There will be a visit to the surroundings for bird watching by native canoe called "quilla", and another walk in the forest are the activities for day 4. While paddling you have the best opportunity to see more fauna and flora and you can get a good idea of ​​what a flooded forest looks like. You can observe a great variety of different birds and monkeys. Because this activity is approximately 4 - 5 hours long, we will have a box lunch on the tour with us.
