CALERA COMMUNITY TRIP - 2 DAYS
Day 1: We arrive at the community of La Calera, we will be received with a traditional flavoring drink based on Andean fruits and Andean grain flour. We are going to participate in the demonstration of the plow, to furrow and remove the land for the sowing of new products, this will allow us to feel and learn from the field activities of a farmer. We will visit a tagua workshop, led by women from the community, where their main job is to make natural jewelry with the tagua seed better known as vegetable ivory, this group of women will show us its process and elaboration. At the end of the visit we will go to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. In the afternoon we will prepare to meet the Yachag known as wise and knowledgeable of the community. Day 2: After a delicious breakfast with your host family, we prepare to learn
about a very peculiar and interesting cooking method for food, and it is done inside the earth surrounded by several volcanic stones that are heated to high temperatures. While the preparation lasts, which is approximately 2 hours, we will visit Cuicocha, to take a short walk and observe the beautiful landscape that the crater lake offers us. In the afternoon we return to enjoy the food that we leave inside the pachamanka, we say goodbye to our hosts to take our return transport.
